Christopher Stowell (Shelburne)
2004 Scholarship Recipient
Champlain Valley Union High School, Hinesburg
Christopher
became involved in helping the queer community as a freshman in
high school. Since then he's been trying to do as much as possible.
Christopher was an active member of the GSTA, planning events
and writing grants. He was also interviewed by Bess O'Brien for
the Voices Project and was a panel member at the Closing the Gap
Conference.
Christopher's
advisor had this to say,
"As
the advisor to CVUHS's GSTA I have spent many hours in conversation
with "Topher" and have only the highest regard for this
courageous young man. I truly believe that his quiet personal
process this year has been as powerful as any flamboyant activism;
as Christopher has come to be as well as speak his truth he has
given his peers the gift of their own power."
Christopher
will be attending St. Michael's College this fall where he will
be studying Psychology.
