Claire Benjamin (Bennington)
2004 Scholarship Recipient
Mount Anthony Union High School
Claire
lives her beliefs. Her instructor for the Upward Bound summer
program had this to say about her,
"she
tries to educate others on a daily basis, and live as an example
to others who might not be as brave as she. In this respect, I
see Claire as a role model for all in our school - adults as well
as students. I know she will become an even more amazing woman
if given help in achieving her goal to attend college.
Not
only did Claire participate in the Upward Bound summer program
but she was also instrumental in re-activating the Diversity Club
which had been inactive for several years and served as its "unofficial"
President. Claire was also key in organizing and promoting school
events such as "Mix It Up" lunch, workshop for teachers
on name calling, and a "Day of Silence."
Claire
will be studying Psychology at Castleton State College this fall.
