2004 Samara Scholarship Recipients:

Samara Foundation is pleased to announce that five students will be receiving $1,000 scholarships for 2004. The Samara Scholarship was established in 2000 as an investment in the future of Vermont students who oppose discrimination and prejudice and who stand for the elimination of homophobia in our society.

Five graduating Vermont high school seniors have been awarded year 2004 Samara Foundation Scholarships. Claire Benjamin of Bennington, Christopher Stowell of Shelburne, Nicole Couillard of Milton, Robin Sunquiet of South Burlington and Elise Corbally of Jeffersonville were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

The Samara Scholarship is designed to recognize students who demonstrate, through personal experiences and/or public commitment, a dedication to the interests of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning (glbtq) community. For more information see our scholarship page.

Information about applications for 2005 Samara Scholarships will be included in the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) Scholarship Catalogue. Call VSAC toll-free: 1-888-253-4819 to receive a copy.
